As a watch enthusiast with a growing collection, I faced a constant frustration: I loved the look of military-inspired nylon straps, but the rough, mass-produced options on the market felt unworthy of a premium timepiece. Before 2015, there were simply no alternatives that matched the quality of the watches they were meant to hold.

I set out to change that. My vision was to craft a luxury watch strap that combined the refined, silky feel of seatbelt-style webbing with military-grade durability—quality that rivals renowned Swiss OEM brands, but without the artificial markup.

Legacy & Evolution of the 1973 Standard

In 2016, after a year of relentless testing and refining, I introduced Phenome Straps (formerly Phenomen*to). It was a pioneering step, establishing a new benchmark for high-end nylon watch straps.

My designs are deeply rooted in history, inspired by the specifications set by the British Ministry of Defence (MOD) in 1973. While the original Def Stan 66-15 design became a global icon, it was later adopted by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and assigned an official NATO Stock Number (NSN). I have evolved this rugged standard for the modern collector. Phenome straps offer the perfect balance of military heritage and elegant comfort.
