I designed the Tropic Bond as the summer evolution of the iconic Bond stripe pattern. Hand-dyed in my workshop, it keeps the same sharp two-tone rhythm as the classic Bond, but swaps the muted tones for a vibrant turquoise and grey palette built for warm-weather wear. It looks especially good on dive watches like the Tudor Pelagos FXD or Baltic Aquascaphe, sport chronographs, and anything with a black, blue, teal, or steel dial. If your usual Bond strap feels too serious between May and September, this is its summer counterpart.

Hand-Dyed in Small Batches

Each Tropic Bond is dyed by hand in my workshop, in batches that rarely exceed 20-30 pieces. The nylon stripes take on the dye, while the polyester center stripe stays grey — creating the signature contrast naturally, through the dyeing process itself. Because each batch runs slightly different, no two Tropic Bonds are ever identical. Once a batch sells out, the next one will look close, but never the same.

A New Take on a Familiar Pattern

The classic Bond stripe has carried the same monochrome look for decades. The Tropic Bond keeps the structure — same proportions, same rhythm — but adds the kind of color you'd expect on a beach, a boat deck, or a summer evening. Inspired by the 1973 British Ministry of Defence specifications, then reimagined as a hand-dyed, limited-batch summer take on a familiar design.

Handcrafted in the European Union

This is not a mass-produced accessory. At PhenomeStraps, every nylon watch strap is personally handcrafted by me in the European Union — including the hand-dyeing process for the Hand-Dyed Collection. I refuse to outsource or rebrand cheap imports, which is how I keep complete control over every detail, from the dye bath to the finished stitch.
